If you are appearing in court to protect yourself or your children from domestic violence, you don’t have to do it alone.
The Women’s Domestic Violence Court Assistance Service provides free and confidential assistance to all women who attend the Brisbane Magistrates Court for domestic and family violence matters. This service is available to all women applying for or responding to a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO).

If you are in danger and need urgent help you should call police on 000. If you would like information about accommodation in a women’s refuge call DV Connect on 1800 811 811.
If you are experiencing domestic or family violence, you can apply for a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO).
The Application Assistance Program helps women apply for DVPOs at the Brisbane Magistrates Court.
Domestic violence prevention workers are located on level 6 of the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday and Friday 9am–1pm (no appointment needed). Phone (07) 3247 5437 for more information.
