You’ll be placed in a regional community that doesn’t have enough solicitors to meet the community’s legal aid needs.
This might be because in some areas there are either not enough firms available to do legal aid work, or firms doing legal aid work are having difficulty recruiting solicitors.
Participants will be placed in rural and regional locations throughout Queensland. Areas such as Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Toowoomba are not classified as placement areas.
We cannot predict where and when locations in regional Queensland may become available for placement, as this depends on each region’s legal needs. Placements have been made in:
- Ayr
- Emerald
- Mackay
- Bowen
- Gladstone
- Mount Isa
- Bundaberg
- Gympie
- Proserpine
- Dalby
- Ingham
- Rockhampton
- Charleville
- Innisfail
- Yeppoon
