Where will I go?

Solicitors participating in the program will be placed in a regional community that currently does not have enough solicitors working in the area to meet the legal aid needs of local residents.

At present a number of communities are experiencing a shortage in solicitors who can undertake legal aid work. Communities, which have been identified as currently experiencing a shortage are:

  • Mackay
  • Mount Isa
  • Innisfail
  • Ingham
  • Goondiwindi
  • Charleville

It is possible you will be offered a placement in one of the above communities. However, this list of potential placement communities will change, as placements are filled, and other communities in need of your help are identified.
