I'm a client but I'm unsatisfied with my current solicitor - can I get someone else?

A change of solicitor is not allowed unless there is good reason for the change, eg. you are moving to a new area.

You are encouraged to try and resolve any communication difficulties with your solicitor. If this approach is unsuccessful, consent to transfer to a new solicitor will usually be given but the cost of the transfer is not paid by Legal Aid Queensland.

Refer to the Grants Handbook for transfer of solicitor guidelines.
