Need help with a legal problem?

Legal Aid Queensland can help you with many personal legal problems, including if you are charged with a criminal offence, family law problems especially about children, family or relationship violence, anti-discrimination, compensation if  you are a victim of crime, debt and Centrelink problems.

Hours: 9am—5pm Monday to Friday.

Our legal services include:

  • A confidential legal information service
    Phone 1300 65 11 88 (cost of a local call)
  • Advice session from qualified lawyers
  • Free publications on a range of legal issues.

Ongoing legal help and representation in court may also be available if you are eligible.

What if English is my second language?

You can contact us through the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on 13 14 50. TIS will organise an interpreter in your language and will connect you to Legal Aid Queensland. This is a confidential service paid for by Legal Aid Queensland.
