Visitor restrictions at Queensland's youth detention centres 23 July 2021

Please see the latest update from the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs about visiting arrangements for Brisbane Youth Detention Centre and West Moreton Youth Detention Centre:

  • The visitor restrictions outlined in previous notices have been eased from 6:00am today (23 July 2021) and face to face visits can resume again.
  • Queensland has declared New South Wales as a COVID-19 hotspot as of 1:00am this morning, 23 July 2021.
  • Queensland will retain a border zone—border zone residents within New South Wales may enter Queensland without an exemption or having to quarantine. These border zone residents will not be permitted to enter a Queensland youth detention centre.
