Expression of Interest - Sandgate Magistrates Court duty lawyer services
Legal Aid Queensland is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from preferred suppliers on the Crime General panel at/near Sandgate to provide criminal law duty lawyer services at the Sandgate Magistrates Court from 1 August 2025 until 30 June 2026.
The Sandgate Magistrates Court criminal law duty lawyer service is provided every Monday and Thursday, including Mondays and Thursdays that may be public holidays.
Firms are invited to submit an expression of interest to provide the service on a Monday, Thursday and public holidays, nominating the days on which the firm can attend.

Your application must include the following information:
- your availability
- a completed application cover sheet
- details of legal practitioners who would be providing the service, including their experience and competence in criminal law
- whether the legal practitioners nominated have criminal duty lawyer accreditation from Legal Aid Queensland, or are eligible for accreditation.
Please note: practitioners wanting to provide this service must hold criminal law duty Lawyer accreditation. Read more about the criminal law duty lawyer accreditation requirements: Criminal law duty lawyer accreditation.
If you would like to submit an EOI but don’t have a practitioner who currently holds criminal law duty lawyer accreditation, the practitioner is encouraged to submit an application for accreditation at the same time as the EOI.
Please submit all expressions of interest via return email to criminallaw.dutylawyer@legalaid.qld.gov.au by 5:00pm on Friday 18 July 2025.
A Legal Aid Queensland panel will consider all applications.
A roster of the successful applicants will be provided in due course.
