Cost of living pressures and your legal rights

Date and time: Tuesday, 21 March 2023, 10.30–11.30am (AEST)

This webinar will include Auslan and live captions.

A webinar for community, health and education workers, financial counsellors and community lawyers. Are you supporting clients who are experiencing financial hardship or mortgage stress? Rising interest rates and cost of living pressures are impacting household budgets across Queensland, making it challenging for many people to meet their financial obligations. Join lawyers Paul Holmes and Kristy Bloomfield from our Civil Justice Services team to learn about common credit and debt legal issues we are helping people with, free legal help available and key tips to help you assist your clients.

This session will cover:

  • staying on top of finances as inflation and the cost of living increase
  • financial hardship – what is it and how to access financial hardship provisions
  • common legal issues in the current financial climate
  • Q&A session
  • further support and top tips.

We value your questions! We strongly encourage you to submit one or more questions when you register as these will help frame our session.
